It seems EA didn’t learn from Spore Piracy fiasco, the company’s now becoming almost trademark-esque Online Activation will come embedded in Crysis: Warhead, too. Crysis’s game designer shed some light on the DRM situation, confirming the game will indeed limit Installs:
Just to get that clarified, you can install warhead as often as you want on your PC as long as you do not make major changes to your hardware or re-install Windows.
So you can activate the game on X different PC’s, whereas the number has not yet been clarified in the end, but you can install the game as often as you want on each of the PC’s.

With Crysis: Warhead getting Steamed, everyone is anxious to know if the Steam version too, will limit activations, as was the case with Steam version of BioShock.

According to Cevat Yerli, Crysis took total of USD 22mil to make. The game, however, did suffer from extreme piracy and was the most pirated game in company’s project history (which only consist of FarCry and Crysis)
Yerli maintained the game was profitable, adding, “if it wasn’t profitable I wouldn’t be able to stand here.”
EA in PC Crysis

EA will now be branding and selling PCs for Crytek’s upcoming title; Crysis: Warhead.
At Electronic Arts’ Comic-Con booth today, an EA rep mentioned that the company plans to market pre-built PCs in conjunction with the release of Crytek’s upcoming PC-exclusive shooter Crysis Warhead. The idea seems to be to try and circumvent some of the intimidation that exists for gamers who are either new to high-end PC gaming, or have been out of the scene for some time, and reassure them that it is not prohibitively expensive to acquire a machine that can tame something like Crysis and its followup.

According to EA Store, Crysis: Warhead will also contain Crysis Wars. A new multiplayer component that comes with new vehicles/weapons and gameplay modes. Would Crysis Wars/Warhead suffer the same piss-poor after-sales support that Crysis did? Only time will tell.
- Pulse-racing new installment from 2007’s PC Game of the Year*: Play as Sergeant Sykes and experience a whole new side of the battle. A standard combat mission behind enemy lines becomes critical when you discover your enemies have captured something of vital importance to the ensuing war. It’s down to you to retrieve the cargo, at any cost.
- More explosive and dynamic minute to minute game play: new customizable weapons, new vehicles, new photorealistic locations to explore, and a fully interactive war zone to dominate.
- Enhanced human and alien AI: Intelligent enemies, bigger challenges, and all-new ally squad support.
- Includes Crysis Wars®, an expanded new multiplayer experience with new online modes and 21 maps including seven all-new maps to battle it out against other players.
- Crysis Warhead is a standalone release and does not require ownership of Crysis to play.

Tiscali games has some juicy details about Crytek’s upcoming title; Crysis: Warhead. The details have been taken from their recent preview of the game. Check them out below:
- Begins when the original game’s Nomad character parts ways with Warhead’s new hero, Psycho, and follows him all the way until the two are to reunite again on board the aircraft carrier.
- Mostly located on the other side of the island.
- Less linear approach and more sandbox type of gameplay, as opposed to the original.
- Same nanosuit and the same functions, with more likely to be revealed later (definitely a “surprise” in that matter is promised).
- Singleplayer campaign to last 8-10 hours.
- At least two new weapons, the granade launcher and double SMG.
- Improved enemy AI, betterily able to organize itself and follow tactics.
- New vehicles incl. Armored Scout Recon (about the size of a jeep with a mounted gun) and a hovercraft, both playable in multiplayer as well.
- New team-based MP mode and less complex than the original two.
- Betterily optimized to run faster than the original game on the same hardware.
- Won’t require DX10 for maximum details and full effects.
- Dialogues done by Bioshock’s Susanna O’Connor.
- Completely stand-alone and as noted by developers, not an add-on but a full title.
- The possibility of Crysis 2 to rely heavily on Warhead’s sales.
Tiscali also has some screens. Well, to be fair, they are more like caps taken from videos. From the screens, the game will boast new weapons; A Grenade Launcher, Possibly an UZI, and the ability to duel wield the new weapons. The graphics and environments, so far, look identical to the original Crysis.
This month’s PCGamer will have a full-blown preview, so watch this space.

According to Crytek, Crysis: Warhead will be playable at High settings at 30-35fps on a $653 PC. The engine is said to have gotten tons of optimisations and there’s a fair chance that these optimisations/tweaks will make it to Crysis itself. Crytek didn’t reveal the resolution, though.
