EA’s upcoming sci-fi survival horror title has gone GOLD. Dead Space will haunt the retail shelves later this month.

Electronic Arts announced today that Dead Space™, the highly anticipated new survival horror game, has gone gold and will go on sale in the UK as planned on October 24 for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the PC.

Mass Effect Gone Gold

BioWare’s PC port of their successful RPG Mass Effect has gone gold. The game has completed development and has been sent to DVD-replicating facilities to ready it for retail.

BioWare announced today that the award-winning action role-playing game (RPG) Mass Effect for PC, published by Electronic Arts, has gone into manufacturing. Mass Effect will be available in North America on May 28, 2008 and June 6, 2008 to European retailers.

Gamers can still take advantage of pre-order specials1 and should check with their preferred retailer for information. Stargate Worlds Closed Beta Registration Now Open

Stargate MMO is now available as a closed BETA. Check out the Press release below:

Stargate Worlds, the massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) from new publisher FireSky, is now taking registrations for closed beta at www.StargateWorlds.com .

The closed beta is an invitation-only test of the upcoming science fiction MMORPG Stargate Worlds. Invitations will be sent out this spring and summer as the Stargate Worlds team ramps up the numbers for testing.

The select group of beta testers will provide feedback to the development team about their game experience while also providing vital insight into the performance of the servers. The closed beta will begin with a small core of gamers and gradually expand as more functionality is added. Borderlands Delayed

In the same Investor QnA in which BioShock 2 went official, Take-Two have announced that Gearbox Software’s upcoming sci-fi first person shooter has been delayed from the original Fiscal Year 2008 to Fiscal Year 2009. From the official press release:

Fiscal 2008 guidance reflects the release of Borderlands for Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and Games for Windows® in fiscal 2009 instead of fiscal 2008 in order to allow additional development time for this highly anticipated game and provide a better balance in the release of Take-Two’s triple-A titles.
