Demigod - Release Schedule Details

demigod_ss1.jpg

Official Demigod website has details on Demigod’s release schedule as well as additional details about the BETAs.

August. Beta 1. This will not be a “fun” beta. It’s a stress test of the engine. Those of you who were in the Sins of a Solar Empire beta or the GalCiv betas know we’re not kidding. There will be very little balancing in this version. It will also be multiplayer-only at this stage.

October. Beta 2.  This beta won’t be that fun either but it’ll be better than Beta 1. THIS is the key beta in which players give us their ideas and suggestions.  The beta process isn’t just to find bugs but to let players suggestion changes to the game.  There will be a series of Betas 2 (2A, 2B, 2C, etc.) that will be released in which we begin incorporating player suggestions. These will happen quite rapidly thanks to Impulse.

December. Beta 3. This may or may not be a public beta depending on how things go.  What we have done in the past is give players who have been particularly helpful access to late betas so that we can keep tweaking and enhancing with their feedback.

January. Gammas (release candidates).

February. Tentative release date at worldwide retail in multiple languages.

We do plan for the game to be available at stores roughly the same time in North America, Europe, Russia, and Australia/NZ at the very least.

Users who are part of the beta will be getting something special but I am not at liberty to talk about it yet.

Dreamlords - The Reawakening - Public BETA

Just when the week seemed to cool down and relax a bit, The Reawakening opens up the beta test for everyone and suddenly a stroll in the park seems pretty far away.

After an extensive closed beta testing, endless hours without sleep and fighting bugs, The Reawakening is now ready to move on to the public beta stage. Amazing feedback, constructive criticism and love letters from the truly devoted testers of the closed beta, has been invaluable and helped the team whip the game into shape.

Web-Based 3D MMOSG, SocioTown, Begins Public Beta

SocioTown, a web-based 3D massive multiplayer online social game (MMOSG), has begun public beta testing. The public beta is taking place on the West1 server:

Developed by the small indie company Outside The Box Software, SocioTown draws inspiration from The Sims and Nintendo’s Animal Crossing while successfully introducing new player-driven social features in a multiplayer environment.

With its upcoming release, SocioTown looks to be the first MMO social game that has an end-game and a sense of purpose. Social MMO games have often been criticized for lacking actual game features and progression. SocioTown looks to change this. It features missions, job simulations, player attributes, leveling up, and advanced NPC (Non Playable Character) interactions. Even the clothes the player buys in the shops aren’t just for looks, they also can affect the character’s attributes.

SocioTown has a low-barrier to entry by being web-based and only requiring the Adobe Shockwave web plugin. Players can jump into the world within minutes instead of hours.

You can participate now in the public beta on the West1 Server:
