Maybe?

New Prince of Persia Preview

French gaming magazine Joypad has a preview of the upcoming Prince of Persia title. Eurogamer.net has roughly translated the preview into english. Here’s a snip:

Creative director Jean-Christophe Guyot told Joypad that the aim was to create a more fantastical game and “more poetic vision” than the Sands of Time trilogy, with which it shares no connection. “The previous trilogy mixed the Arabian Nights in with historical Persia,” he said (in French, so please excuse our rough translation). “We decided we’d prefer to return to the tales of the Thousand and One Nights for something more colourful.

According to Variety.com, upcoming game-to-movie adoption Prince of Persia: Sands of Time will start shooting in mid-june in morroco. Here’s a snip:

“Producers are always looking for cheap places to shoot and Morocco is one of them,” said Dune Films’ Jimmy Abounouom, who is repping the Moroccan shoot for Disney.

Epic project is a live-action feature based on the videogame. “Prince of Persia” has a script by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (”The Day After Tomorrow”) and vidgame creator Jordan Mechner. The vidgame spawned six installments and numerous spin-offs, boosting Disney execs’ hopes for a lucrative new tentpole.

Choice of Morocco as a shooting location will be a boost for the North African country’s film biz.
