Bethesda Frustrated by Censorship

bethesda-frustrated-by-censorship

The developer of Fallout 3 is very “frustrated” by the different levels of censorship that lies in various religions. Without pointing any fingers, Pete Hines, product manager of Bethesda said:

The frustrating thing for us is that the standards and rules can be so varied across territories, that we work with five or six ratings agencies and each one has different ‘hot buttons

Going further, he commented:

In one place nudity is a big deal but violence is fine, and in another place drugs are a problem but nudity is fine.

Bethesda’s frustration is quite understandable, given the hissy-fit that took place when Australian censor board banned Fallout 3, And then unbanned it.

Fallout 3 Demo Not Happening

Speaking with Eurogamer.net, Pete Hines of Bethesda Softworks has confirmed there will be NO demo for Fallout 3. Check out the full quote below:

“When you build it as one thing, there’s no way to portion off a section and have it stand on its own without putting the whole game in the demo, which we’re just not going to do. And it doesn’t really capture the fun of a game like an Elder Scrolls or a Fallout, where you can go where you want and do what you want. So no demo, sorry.”
