Battlefield 2142 v1.50 Patch Details & QnA

Planet Battlefield has the latest details on the upcoming v1.50 patch for Battlefield 2142. The v1.50 patch will also contain two new maps and is scheduled to release sometime in the near-future.

Q. What new content will we see in Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50?

A. As well as a number of bug fixes and tweaks based on community feedback we are going to be releasing two new maps created by community members. Wake Island makes its return to Battlefield PC thanks to the guys at Sir. Community and a map which you may have heard of called Anzio will be appearing with a name change as Operation Shingle created by Jason Brice. We are also bringing a No Vehicles option to a number of 2142 maps for those players who want to fight it out on foot as well as allowing you to access 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions for those widescreen monitors. We also heard your cries for movement in pods to be re-introduced on transport ship escape pods so we have been working on giving that back to you while still limiting pod surfing use.

Team Fortress 2 - Mega Update Coming Next Week

Using their Steam news section, VALVe has confirmed the update is due next week.

A major update for TF2 is due next week, adding an all new map, Goldrush, and new achievement-based weapons for the Medic. Pick up TF2 here and get ready.

Team Fortress 2 - Medic Unlocks/Goldrush Update

We reported last month that VALVe plans to release medic unlocks and Goldrush map this month. Ofcourse, with VALVe, you can never be sure of the release dates. Steam forum member sumowski contacted Valve, and got a reply from Robin Walker regarding the update:

And we repeat, with Valve, you can never be sure with the release dates. So take this e-mail with a grain of salt until you’re finally playing Goldrush map with Medic unlocks.

Garry’s Mod Update Released

Updates to Garry’s Mod have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Garry’s Mod

  • Added ‘Player List’ option to menu screen
  • View is no longer limited on Prisoner Pod
  • Added chair vehicles
  • Fixed ‘laggy’ motion blur on listen server (Thanks HLCoders)
  • Fixed various playermodel issues (Nova)
  • Fixed HL2 maps not being mounted
  • Fixed content choices not being saved on some systems
  • Fixed always adding the “increased_maxplayers” custom server tag
  • Fixed rare crash on map change

Garry’s Mod Update Released

Updates to Garry’s Mod have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

  • Fingerposer now works with TF2 models
  • Improved fingerposer UI accuracy

  • Added code to fix TF2 turrets spawning with unusable physics object

  • Fixed rare startup crash due to localization

  • Fixed numberwang not working if textarea had key focus
  • Fixed Lua error when putting an invalid number into numberwang
  • Fixed crash when physgunning weapons into players
  • Added lua_reloadents (for lua coders, to reload all Lua entities)
  • Added some missing TF2 map icons (Thanks Namelezz)

Today, Kalypso Media Group is publishing a multilingual patch for the strategy highlight “Imperium Romanum”.

Saga v136.8 Patch Details

This week we’ve been focusing on getting things in place to resolve the remaining crashes people may be experiencing. We’re hoping to see them all disappear over the next few weeks as we finish gathering data and put all the pieces into place. We’re also working fast and furious on fixes such as market issues. The Ship - Update Released

The Ship, mod-turned-full-version first person shooter has gotten an update on Steam. The update will automatically be applied when you restart your steam client.

RELEASE NOTES:

  • Fixed bug where you could noclip when jumping at the same time as interacting with something
  • Improved weapon combat under higher lag situations
  • Sounds and decals now get loaded correctly from custom maps that have these files zipped into the BSP
  • Fixed potential crash with very long chat messages
  • Fixed bug where fatigue was not going up while sprinting if you sprinted when you woke up
  • Fixed bug with players not being able to get other player names
  • Fixed bug where Quarry location was still being shown on map even though player has no Quarry
  • Bots no longer consider prison areas when looking for interactions outside of prison
  • Bots no longer think they are trespassing when in a toilet room meant for them (i.e. male toilet for male Bots)
  • Don’t arrest a player if they have been killed just after the arrest process has begun
  • Single Player - Needs are now reset when you fail a mission
