PC port of BioWare’s successful RPG has shipped to US retails. You can get it for MSRP of $49.95.

White Gold Preview

CVG has a nice preview of Deep Shadows’s upcoming title; White Gold. Here’s a snippet:

With White Gold’s play area consisting of six large islands and 50 smaller ones dotted about them, you might think that you’ve seen similar free-roaming fare with games like Just Cause.

What sets White Gold apart though, is its grounding in roleplay. You may well be able to drive tanks and nip around on quad bikes, but this Caribbean jet setting will be complemented by an inventory system straight out of Deus Ex and a full set of roleplay perks and experience.

Mass Effect Gone Gold

BioWare’s PC port of their successful RPG Mass Effect has gone gold. The game has completed development and has been sent to DVD-replicating facilities to ready it for retail.

BioWare announced today that the award-winning action role-playing game (RPG) Mass Effect for PC, published by Electronic Arts, has gone into manufacturing. Mass Effect will be available in North America on May 28, 2008 and June 6, 2008 to European retailers.

Gamers can still take advantage of pre-order specials1 and should check with their preferred retailer for information. Alternatively, gamers who pre-order Mass Effect through the Electronic Arts online store at www.eastore.ea.com will receive bonus items2 from the game Dead Space™, the highly anticipated sci-fi survival horror game by EA, including the first issue of the Dead Space comic book and a Dead Space poster while supplies last. Mass Effect on PC being co-developed by Demiurge Studios

Demiurge Studios will be co-developing Mass Effect on PC with BioWare. Demiurge Studios’s previous work includes helping Kaos Studios optimize the PC port of Frontlines: Fuel of War; they’re also responsible for the Wii port of Gearbox’s tactical shooter Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30.
