Physics Upgrades:
Treyarch has added several physics based enhancements to the CoD4 engine. Most notably, environments are more destructible. It’s possible to either burn environmental objects down, or blow them to pieces. The developer has also added in ropes, which can be used to hang up dead POWs from trees. Ofcourse, anything suspended by a rope will come crashing down with a well-aimed shot.

Team Fortress 2 - Update Released

Valve has released another update for Team Fortress 2. This update primarily fixes bugs and some back-end things.

Team Fortress 2

  • Changed video options initialization to fix some HUD resolution problems in mods
  • Fixed crash issuing the last disguise command when not connected to a server
  • Fixed rare crash on exit
  • Fixed a couple of issues with gamestats reporting incorrect values
  • Fixed an exploit that allowed clients to crash servers

Aliens: Colonial Marines Preview

CVG has some juicy new details about the upcoming first person shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines. Here’s a snip:

All the Colonial Marines’ armoury seen in Aliens will appear in the game, including the pulse rifle, those cool automated gun turrets that appear in the extended Aliens: Special Edition, and Hicks’ favourite boom stick, the Remington shotgun - although to keep you immersed in the action, there’s no in-game HUD, with ammo counters appearing on the side of each weapon.

Space Force - Rogue Universe v1.2 Patch

JoWooD’s space fighting sim has gotten an update. Space Force - Rogue Universe can now be updated to v1.2 via the newly available patch. Release notes below:

FIXES
- fixed bug with text,shield and armor overlapping on wingman list
- fixed wrong text displaying locked ship’s distance (near lock rectangle)
- fixed crash when matching a speed with a building or a turret
- fixed bug where second tutorial stage was accidentally skipped
- fixed bug where materials were illegal goods on pirate stations
- fixed crash caused by mine destruction
- fixed bug with clearing the lower right corner of the mini map
- fixed some bugs with overlappig text in few localisations
- fixed bug with volumetric fog, shader 3.0, HDR and star effect where half
of the screen become white
- fixed bug with makkinist huge armor and shield
- added few CPU and GPU optimisations
- added few missing effect files that can cause a crash
- fixed bug with effect that stay in space after object destruction
- fixed bug with time device and normal fire rate (player will now fire in normal
rate while in time device mode)
- HUD now contains distance that tells you how far the closest enemy missle is

- ship durability price is now 5% of ship full price

MODDING
- added weapon heat time vars in GlobalData.cfg

Race 07 Update Released

Updates to RACE 07 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:
