S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky gets Another Patch

GSC Game World’s open-world shooter-cum-RPG has gotten another dose of bug fixes and updates via the latest patch. Details below;
- Fixed an error which prevented the guide from leading the player to the Cordon. This was caused by the fact that the autosave function failed to save all data, and once such a saved game was loaded, the game became impossible to complete. If this error occurred, it was necessary to restart the game from the beginning.
- Fixed a bug with secondary objectives (Deliver item), which caused the arrow to point to the wrong NPC after a save/load.
- Changed the reward for lowering the bridge in the Red Forest.
- Changed the reward for killing bandits at the Freedom base filling station.
- Fixed the Freedom technician’s dialogue. After accepting a secondary objective, it became impossible to undertake/complete objectives to find flash drives.
- Fixed an error, which caused the situation to be displayed incorrectly in the PDA Faction War section.
- Fixed an error, which caused the number of grenades for the grenade launcher attachment to be saved incorrectly following modifications.
- Fixed an error, which caused FPS to fall when the cursor was moved over headings on the PDA map.

All the Americans waiting for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky will have to hold on a bit longer as the game has been delayed due to manufacturing problems. GSC Game World recalled shipped stocks after they discovered that the products didn’t contain CD-keys. European/Asian countries are unaffected by this change and will be getting their dose of radiation on September 5th, as promised.

As we reported earlier, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky was scheduled to release in august. now, it’s official. GSC Game World, computer games developer, its publishing subdivision GSC World Publishing and Koch Media, a leading marketer of video games, today announced the planned release date for the title S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. According to the agreed plan, the game will ship August 29, 2008 worldwide. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky will be published by the games labels Deep Silver and GSC World Publishing.

While an exact release date is unknown, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky will be hitting stores in August 2008. Clear Sky is the prequel to GSC Game World’s platinum selling shooter-survival title. Clear Sky promises to fill in the story gaps that Shadow of Chernobyl left. Clear Sky will use GSC’s proprietary X-Ray 1.5 and also support DirectX 10 for enhanced visuals. With THQ no longer watching GSC’s back, and with the success of the first game, GSC Game World are now free to mold S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky however they want. PC Gamer has a lengthy preview of upcoming prequel to the platinum selling S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Apart from other things, this prequel promises to be far more open-ended and expansive than the original game. Clear Sky will also promises fill the holes about Strelok’s sketchy past and how he ended up in the back of the truck.
