The highly anticipated single player Battlefield 2 modification — Allied Intent Xtended v2 has been released! If you don’t know what AIX is, it’s a brilliant (and possibly the best) available mod for Battlefield 2. AIX is a total conversion mod that adds new factions, new weapons, new sounds, new maps and completely rejuvenates the rather stale default Battlefield 2 gameplay.
If you already have AIX v1.0 installed, you don’t need to get the huge installer, you can rather download the 900MB AIX v1.0 to AIX 2.0 patch. If you don’t have AIX installed, then you can grab the large installer.

DICE’s shiny shooter has gone gold! Unfortunately, the PC version won’t be making an appearance before Late Winter.
EA and DICE announced today that highly acclaimed and award-winning first-person action adventure title Mirror’s Edge has gone gold. An exhilarating launch trailer has also been released. Mirror’s Edge has been praised by top industry media saying it is ‘the most exciting first-person adventure of the year’ (EGM) and ‘poetry in motion’ (Official Xbox Magazine). The game also won this year’s Game Critics Award for Best Original Game at E3.
Gamers can experience first-hand what life is like as a runner with the recently released Mirror’s Edge demo that is available via PlayStation® Store and Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace. Players in the UK who pre-order the game from Play.com will also receive an unlock code for exclusive access to the Time Trial mode, an addictive way of playing the game that challenges players to use their speed and best moves to find the fastest routes throughout the city. Gamers can upload their best time to the Mirror’s Edge online leaderboards for their friends to download and compete against. Players can see their friend’s ‘ghost’ run as they race to the top of the leaderboards. Anyone pre-ordering from GAME will get an exclusive limited-edition Fenchurch Mirror’s Edge T-shirt.
Mirror’s Edge is a unique first-person action adventure where players are introduced to Faith, a ‘Runner’ in a world where communication channels are highly monitored and the movement of information is closely watched. When Faith’s sister gets framed for murder, Faith finds herself on the edge of the city, on the wrong side of the law.

Feel a bit nostalgic? Then crank out your old Need for Speed 3 CD and get to racing! A modder by the name of RejZoR was kind enough to release a patch that enables you to play the classic NFS: Hot Pursuit title on modern OSes like Windows Vista and XP. The patch requires the original copy of NFS 3, before you get any wrong ideas. Grab it from below and relive the glory days.
64-bit Windows is also supported, where original installer simply fails to run (because it’s just 16-bit).
I have also included optional package of all traffic vehicles and traffic pursuit cars. Thats right, you can now race with delivery trucks, taxi cars, school buses, SUV’s and so on. They are slow and steer like a whale, but racing with them is hilarious. Especially in Hot Pursuit mode on split screen. Pure fun!
Disney Should Oh Nom-Nom EA?

God damn it, why do all the horrific ideas appear AFTER Holloween? Just not fair! Disney should buy EA! Well, atleast the Wall Street Journal (Subscription REQUIRED) thinks so. Nevermind the resulting entity will be so evil that’ll make 2012 come early.
In a bold call in Saturday’s Heard On The Street column, the Wall Street Journal proposed that Disney (DIS) ought to buy Electronic Arts (ERTS). The piece note that the timing is right, after a significant earnings miss last week knocked down the video game publisher’s stock 18% on Friday. The piece concludes that “Disney would be gutsy to step up during the current economic uncertainty. But it might be better than waiting for better times and paying top dollar.”

EA Won’t Lock You Out, Afterall

Apparently, the whole news about EA forum trolls getting locked out of their games was just a “misunderstanding”. As EA contacted Shacknews and gave them an explanation:
Posting in EA Forums is enabled by an EA Nucleus account — but access to the forums and access to the games are separate. Players who have been banned from EA Forums are not automatically banned from online access to their other EA games. Players can be banned if they breach the Terms of Service or Code of Conduct in a forum, game or service. Each forum, game and service is managed independently by customer support representatives responsible for that specific forum, game or service.
EA Continues Being a Nazi, Gets Hardcore!

Do you hate EA? Ofcourse you do! But don’t dare say that or anything similar that can and might offend EA on their forums. Otherwise, you’ll get locked out of your EA games. forever. Yes, that’s right, EA’s latest policy means getting banned on their forums will get your account axed, alongside the games.
Your forum account will be directly tied to your Master EA Account, so if we ban you on the forums, you would be banned from the game as well since the login process is the same. And you’d actually be banned from your other EA games as well since its all tied to your account. So if you have SPORE and Red Alert 3 and you get yourself banned on our forums or in-game, well, your SPORE account would be banned to. It’s all one in the same, so I strongly reccommend people play nice and act mature.
