82% of Consumers React Positively to Receiving In-Game Ads

You may not like in-game advertising, but according to latest Nielson study, 82% people out of odd 1,300 do; The study was conducted by IGA-Nielson and revealed measurable lift in perception from seeing in-game advertisements.

Some findings from the study:

• There is an average 44 percent increase in post-game aided recall from pre-awareness;

• Positive brand attribute association increased 33 percent across all brands;

• Over 70 percent of consumers who were most opinionated about in-game ads, felt the ads made them feel better about the brand, feel more favorable toward the brand, make them more interested in the brand, and believe the ads are for innovative/cutting edge brands;

• Over 60 percent of the most opinionated consumers feel the ads catch their attention, make games more realistic, do not interrupt the game experience, and are promoting relevant products;

• In-game ad exposures with a duration over 2 seconds, as they are measured in IGA’s in-game ad methodology, generates on average an almost 30% increase in key ad metrics, including ad noticeability +100%, recall +42%, and fit +27%, vs. ad exposures with a duration of less than 1 second

Warhammer Online Special Edition To Have Only 55,000 Copies

If you live in Europe and digg Warhammer games, make sure to pre-order the special edition of Warhammer: Online early. According to EA Mythic, “only” 55,000 units are being made.

Included in the special edition will be a copy of the game, “Art of Warhammer Online” - 224 page book, Grumlok and Gazbag miniatures (assembly and painting required) and “Prelude to War” - 128 page hard cover graphic novel.

Saga v136.8 Patch Details

This week we’ve been focusing on getting things in place to resolve the remaining crashes people may be experiencing. We’re hoping to see them all disappear over the next few weeks as we finish gathering data and put all the pieces into place. We’re also working fast and furious on fixes such as market issues. Audiosurf - Update Released

A new update for Valve’s puzzle-racing-music title Audiosurf is now available. The update should be applied automatically when you restart your Steam client.

Release Notes:

  • Added separate volume controls for menu music, game music, and sound effects
  • Added new Mono Pro vehicle with jump fins (was in previous update)
  • Play Double Vision with X360 controller and Mouse (or X360 controller only)
  • Added “resend score” button in the event of a timeout
