The latest Call of Duty game will once again be deprived of any DX10 goodness. According to Cesar Stastny of Treyarch:
Cesar Stastny: Maybe if there is a compelling benefit to doing so, such as new superior hardware which requires DirectX 10.
That’s quite alright, PC Gamers are now used to getting left out anyway.

If rumors are to be believed, Microsoft will soon be announcing DirectX 11. The software giant plans to announce it in Microsoft game technology conference known as Gamefest 2008. (previously known as Meltdown) Features of DirectX 11 include support for Shader Model 5.0, Multi-thread rendering and Tessellation/Displacement.
Gamefest 2008 will be held in Seattle, WA on 22-23rd July and you can buy tickets for $550.
An interesting move considering the poor adoption of DirectX 10.
