Peter Molyneus is a man with opinions. ofcourse, most of those opinions are always far fetched lies, but still, they are opinions! Fable creator had a handful of things to say during an interview with Shacknews. Here’s a snip:

“I think the PC is just reinventing itself… It’s being owned more and more by casual gamers, who are playing games from a variety of sites. They are really under the radar at the moment, but there’s… an awful lot of people playing Flash games”.

Fiscal 2008 guidance reflects the release of Borderlands for Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and Games for Windows® in fiscal 2009 instead of fiscal 2008 in order to allow additional development time for this highly anticipated game and provide a better balance in the release of Take-Two’s triple-A titles.

Stardock’s Take on Piracy

March 11, 2008 by Raj

With everyone throwing their two cents about piracy nowadays, it was just a matter before Stardock said it’s fair share too. One of Stardock employees made a post regarding Piracy and their recent RTS Sins of a Solar Empire:

Recently there has been a lot of talk about how piracy affects PC gaming. And if you listen to game developers, it apparently is a foregone conclusion - if a high quality PC game doesn’t sell as many copies as it should, it must be because of piracy.

Now, I don’t like piracy at all. It really bugs me when I see my game up on some torrent site just on the principle of the matter. And piracy certainly does cost sales. But arguing that piracy is the primary factor in lower sales of well made games? I don’t think so.

Mirror’s Edge QnA, New Screenshots

On Mirror’s Edge, the official fansite of Mirror’s Edge (upcoming first person shooter from DICE) did a QnA with DICE regarding Mirror’s Edge. They question everything from the birth and origin of the concept to graphics and estimated release date. Here’s a snip:

1. Why did DICE decide to make a game like this?
It was a very deliberate decision. We wanted to create a new IP that was very different from Battlefield and would appeal to a slightly different audience whilst still building on our strengths in 1st person. When we looked at the market we realized that although there were a lot of first person games out there, most of them were focusing on the gun and not the person. So we decided to do a game that was about the person not the weapon.

Mirror’s Edge is DICE’s take on re-inventing the FPS genre, presenting a game that focuses more character interaction rather than action. Mirror’s Edge centers around Faith, a sexy runner who’s job is to deliver confidential information between various parties. Full interview and 15 images (including a sexy wallpaper!) after the break.
