At the moment we’ve got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there’s a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010. At the moment we’re not that interested in the Wii. We’re going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We’ll continue to pursue three or four titles a year and go for big titles.

Bethesda’s highly anticipated is getting Steamed! The RPG is available on Steam for pre-purchase and unlocks in 6 days. Good news is, if you’re in India, you can buy the title from Steam as it won’t see a retail release.
“Fallout 3 is one of the most important PC launches of 2008,” said Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve. “Last year, we were able to deliver major releases such as Bioshock and Call of Duty 4 to the millions of gamers connected to Steam. With Fallout 3 added to the line up of great titles coming to Steam, this year promises to be an even better holiday season for Steam gamers.”

Accoding to Bethesda’s Todd Howard, Fallout 4 may get released in the three year time-frame.
I think it’s good for people to miss things,” said Todd Howard, executive producer of the game. “Ten years between ‘Fallout’ is a bit long, but I think there’s this nostalgia factor.
Fans of the post-Apocalyptic game, set in Washington, D.C., won’t have to wait another decade for “Fallout 4.” Howard said he believes three years is a good time frame between games.

This news comes as a shocker for those who were awaiting this game which releases on October 28, here’s an excerpt of news piece from GamingIndians.com which says that Microsoft was going to release this game for their Xbox 360 console, Microsoft sent out an official statement that read,
“Microsoft constantly endeavors to bring the best games to Indian consumers in sync with their international release. However, in light of cultural sensitivities in India, we have made the business decision to not bring Fallout 3 into the country.”
I wonder what would be so culturally sensitive in the game that could hurt Indian sentiments, could it be related to mutated two headed cows in the game which is sacred to Indians? I know however the game would not be available through retail stores, still few game dealers would be able to manage imported copies of this game in India for sure.
Also the article says “Due to distribution issues in the region, Microsoft had taken up the role of distributor for Fallout 3 in India, while the PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game were never scheduled for release in the country.”
Bad news for all PC, PS3 & Xbox 360 gamers to miss out launch of a high quality game in India.
Note: If you still want your dose of Fallout 3, you can try importing it from sites such as Game.co.uk and Play-Asia.com

Remember that whole Australian Fallout 3 censorship fiasco? Fallout 3 gets banned in Australia, only to be announced it’ll indeed get released but with censored content? Here’s something that’ll really make you smile — The censored Australian version of Fallout 3 will now be the global version. In even simpler terms, thanks to the retarded Australian censor board, everyone will get censored Fallout 3. Lovely news, ain’t it?
Bethesda Frustrated by Censorship

The developer of Fallout 3 is very “frustrated” by the different levels of censorship that lies in various religions. Without pointing any fingers, Pete Hines, product manager of Bethesda said:
The frustrating thing for us is that the standards and rules can be so varied across territories, that we work with five or six ratings agencies and each one has different ‘hot buttons
Going further, he commented:
In one place nudity is a big deal but violence is fine, and in another place drugs are a problem but nudity is fine.
Bethesda’s frustration is quite understandable, given the hissy-fit that took place when Australian censor board banned Fallout 3, And then unbanned it.
