The latest “Meet the” video from Valve is here! And this time, we’re meeting, what is perhaps the most annoying (and fun to play) class in Team Fortress 2;
Meet the Sniper, one of nine playable character classes in Team Fortress 2:
Name: Sniper
Role: Support
Weapons: Sniper Rifle / SMG / Kukri
In his former life as a tracker of dangerous game in the unforgiving Australian outback, the Sniper would spend months by himself. Prolonged isolation taught him a valuable lesson: You don’t have to rely on other people if you never miss.

The lazy ass blokes at 3D Realms were interviewed by Jace Hall from The Jace Hall Show and allowed recording of some gameplay footage. You can check it out here. Sadly, you must go through few minutes of the over-saturated trainwreck of a show before you can see the footage.
Oh well.
And no, most people don’t care.

Criterion games have released the first trailer for the PC port of Burnout: Paradise. The trailer shows 18 seconds of gameplay footage, captured at 3840×1200 (dual monitors) resolution. But don’t worry, the trailer is encoded at 1920×600 resolution. Here’s the low quality FLV version. HD 720p and 1080p versions after the jump.

Ubisoft Montreal has released a new trailer for their FPS Far Cry 2. The new trailer shows some in-game footage as well as commentary from the designers of the game. The trailer also features french subtitles for the commentary. The ending of the trailer suggests Ubisoft Montreal will reveal more information during their Ubidays 08 Press event.
Interesting thing to note: During the gameplay segments, the frame rate looks to be in teens.

DICE has released a teaser gameplay trailer for their upcoming first-person-shooter; Mirror’s Edge. The trailer is made up of entirely in-game footage and shows the game’s vivid visuals as well as incredibly life-like character movement.
Mirror’s Edge is DICE’s take on re-inventing the FPS genre, presenting a game that focuses more character interaction rather than action. Mirror’s Edge centers around Faith, a sexy runner who’s job is to deliver confidential information between various parties.

Project Offset, a visually stunning first person shooter in development by Offset software, may become exclusive to PCs if Intel has it’s way. Intel acquired Offset Software in Feb, 2008 and has been working on “next generation visuals” project ever since. Below is a video that features Remi Arnaud, Senior Graphics Architect and Manager of the Game Engine Technology team at Intel. Arnaud talks about the technology behind the engine, consoles as well as the game in-general.

EA has released a new video for their upcoming survival horror title; Dead Space. The 4 minutes long developer diary discusses the game’s environments as well as story and gameplay mechanics. Check it out below:
