Demigod - Release Schedule Details

Posted on Jul 14, 2008 03:37:00 AM

demigod_ss1.jpg

Official Demigod website has details on Demigod’s release schedule as well as additional details about the BETAs.

August. Beta 1. This will not be a “fun” beta. It’s a stress test of the engine. Those of you who were in the Sins of a Solar Empire beta or the GalCiv betas know we’re not kidding. There will be very little balancing in this version. It will also be multiplayer-only at this stage.

October. Beta 2.  This beta won’t be that fun either but it’ll be better than Beta 1. THIS is the key beta in which players give us their ideas and suggestions.  The beta process isn’t just to find bugs but to let players suggestion changes to the game.  There will be a series of Betas 2 (2A, 2B, 2C, etc.) that will be released in which we begin incorporating player suggestions. These will happen quite rapidly thanks to Impulse.

December. Beta 3. This may or may not be a public beta depending on how things go.  What we have done in the past is give players who have been particularly helpful access to late betas so that we can keep tweaking and enhancing with their feedback.

January. Gammas (release candidates).

February. Tentative release date at worldwide retail in multiple languages.

We do plan for the game to be available at stores roughly the same time in North America, Europe, Russia, and Australia/NZ at the very least.

Users who are part of the beta will be getting something special but I am not at liberty to talk about it yet.

Frontlines: Fuel of War BETA Demo

Posted on Jul 8, 2008 10:33:27 AM

fuel-of-war-beta_demo.jpg

After all the wait, Kaos Studios has finally released (or rather, “leaked”) the BETA demo of their buggy fps; Frontlines: Fuel of War. Why release a BETA demo? No clue. The BETA demo includes Oilfield and GNAW maps and contains the latest v1.1.1 code. Note that this is a BETA demo and when the “final” version comes out, you may have to uninstall/reinstall it. Yeah, dumb. You can post the feedback regarding the demo here.

The PC demo has been leaked! Give it a try before it gets un-leaked. Yes, it is legit. Why should you play it, you ask?

1) It is leaked! The mysterious appeal makes it sexy AND exciting
2) More people means more fun!
3) It isn’t 1.1.0. No, it is 1.1.1. What difference does the extra 1 make? FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF.

Battlefield 2142 - v1.50 BETA Patch

Posted on May 8, 2008 07:02:51 AM

EA has released the BETA version of the recently announced v1.50 Patch. The new patch adds two new maps as well as various fixes.

Starting today you can be part of the Beta phase of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50. Update 1.50 is a big step for Battlefield as it is the first time we have included community created maps and included them into an update. Wake Island makes a come back thanks to The Sir. Community and appears alongside a brand new map new to Battlefield created by Jason Brice, Operation Shingle. Also, for those who prefer to fight on foot, we have added a No Vehicle option to a number of maps to allow you to fight without worrying if you’ll come face to face with a Battle Walker. Also, as requested by match broadcasting groups we have separated the Commanders voice volume from the Sound Effects so you can keep the explosions and gun fire without the Commander interrupting the broadcast. Battlefield: Heroes BETA Announcement

Posted on May 6, 2008 09:11:06 PM

As reported earlier, a BETA for Battlefield: Heroes is on it’s way. The official Battlefield: Heroes website has posted an announcement regarding the BETA:

As you may have noticed, you killed our website. We are not angry. We’re very pleased you want to be in the Beta.

The beta for Heroes will be divided into several stages, the first of which is all about testing out this new way of getting games to you all; by downloading and installing them from a website. We’ll also be trying out some other dull stuff to do with servers, so we are expecting the systems to be down as much as they are up.

To help us track down all the technical issues, we have asked a third party to find us some specialist Beta testers. We are doing all this because we want to be sure that when we launch Heroes, everything will work smoothly.

So hang in there! We will announce here when it’s time to sign up for the public stage of the Beta.
