Press Release:

Demiurge Studios, independent developers of video games for PC and major consoles, is collaborating with BioWare to bring PC fans the award-winning space epic Mass Effect in May 2008. Now customized for PC interface and hardware, Mass Effect invites players to take the role of Commander Shepard as they set out on an adventure to save the galaxy from imminent destruction.

With development beginning during the final stages of Xbox 360 development, the PC version remains true to the Mass Effect experience while tailoring the user interface to feel completely natural for PC players. Demiurge worked closely with the BioWare team to enhance gameplay with new additions, such as a third command wheel to allow players to direct their squad members separately, a completely reworked inventory system, fully customized key mapping and hot keys, and an entirely new minigame. Substantial attention was also paid to visuals and game flow, featuring higher resolution environments and characters and a more fluid gaming experience.

“We are thrilled to work on this extraordinary title,” said Albert Reed, studio director of Demiurge Studios. “Mass Effect is a powerful game that people everywhere should experience and we are focused on bringing the best version possible to the PC. BioWare has been a fantastic partner, making our development process as relaxed and efficient as possible. This is a studio that knows its market and truly is pushing video games into the realm of art.”

Demiurge Studios works with many leading developers and publishers, playing a vital role in the development process from specialty consulting to full development. For more information about the company and its projects, please visit www.demiurgestudios.com.
